Blinking Smart Stop
Anyone who drives a Car, Truck or an SUV. Whether you just drive around town on your commute or you drive the highways, motorways or the autobahn. In a recent year in the USA alone over, 2.5 million rear-end collisions, resulted in more than 2,149 deaths that year. NHSTA has stated that an extra warning time could prevent 90% of all rear collisions.
Studies carried out by Daimler Chrysler prove that peoples reaction time is quicker with flashing brake lights than without. The studies found that at a speed of 50 mph the increased reaction time reduces the stopping distance by approximately 14.5 feet, and at 65 mph by around 20 feet.
When you apply your brakes, depending on the version, it causes your center high mounted (third) brake light or main brake lights to automatically emit a visual alerting signal of 6 light pulses, followed by steady brake light on condition.
It’s very simple, it’s a Do-It-Yourself installation. It fits in the trunk using the labeled wires extending from the unit. The device comes with snap in line connectors for easy installation and fitting instructions. The average install time for first timers is approximately 5-15 minutes. Depending on vehicle type.
The Delay version was designed for those drivers who might not want to continuously flash their third brake light when caught in bumper to bumper traffic. Once you have applied your brakes for the first time causing your third brake light to flash 6 times and then turn solid, touching your brakes again within 8 seconds will cause your third brake light to turn on normally without flashing. In other words, you must have your foot off the brakes for more than 8 seconds before the Blinking Smart Stop will reset and cause your third brake light to flash again.
Because laws vary from state to state and country to country, the Blinking Smart Stop was designed to only flash the brake lights for set amount of time (lights flash for appx. 2.6 seconds and then goes solid) so they would not be confused as an emergency indicator. We have sold products to all 50 states and twenty five countries over the past seven years without complaints.
Blinking Smart Stop (Std) and Blinking Smart Stop (Delay) only have one output and were designed to attach only to the third, center-high mounted, brake light. The Smart Stop Plus was designed with a second output and was intended to connect directly to the Main "Left" and "Right" brake lights of cars and trucks with separate turn signal lights. The Smart Stop Plus versions will not work with cars and trucks that are designed to turn on the same "bulb" with the turn signal and brake pedal . Plus 3 is designed to work with all brake lights
Will only work with vehicles with separate brake light connections.
Blinking Smart Stop Std & Delay versions are compact devices, measuring 1 x 2 x 0.5 inches,

Blinking Smart is a small microprocessor based unit that monitors the turn indicator circuits to turn them on if the switch has been touched momentarily. If it sees a momentary signal, it will flash the indicator lights an additional 6 times.
No more holding and keeping your fingers on your turn switch when changing lanes.
Blinking Smart works on most vehicles that have separate rear brake and indicator lights.
Cars, such as some Fords, use the same light bulb for both the brake and rear indicator lights. In these types of vehicles, the front and rear indicator circuits on each side are controlled with separate signals. If installed on the rear indicator circuits, Blinking Smart will not be able to control the front indicators or the dashboard lights.
